According to the latest analysis of Ministry of Commerce, as international tourism enjoys more prosperity, the market demand for suitcases and bags are expanded, which means suitcase & bag industry now is confronting with good opportunity for development. As the biggest manufacturing and exporting country of suitcase & bag all around the world, China sees promising future in suitcase & bag export.

It is learnt that the annual production of China suitcases and bags accounts for more than half of the whole output of the world. In 2008, China suitcase & bag export reached 10.81 billion dollars, for the first time exceeding 10 billion and accounting for 33% of that of the world.
It is also known that among Chinese labor intensive industries, suitcase & bag has become an outstanding one and built an industrial chain consisting of industries of leather, textile, belt, zipper, packing, hardware, and so on.
It is notable that under the circumstance of the appreciation of the RMB and rising cost of raw materials and labor forces, there are fewer profit margins for this industry, which requires the structural optimization of exported products. On the basis of expanding export channels and correctly coping with trade barriers, China suitcase & bag industry should go further on product innovation and emphasize more upon brand strategy.
